Continue learning and growing at home as we work alongside your students at school!

How caregivers can support academic learning at home:

  • Read together daily or encourage independent reading with books that match your child’s interests and reading level. Check out tips for families at https://www.pbs.org/parents/read and Mrs. Brandt's Summer Reading flyer at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1M6wCUz9pFfj8DgjlsODmpqS3OJCwA0lUEfIyVHCvesk/edit?usp=sharing.

  • Practice math in everyday life—counting, measuring, cooking, and playing games all help build number sense. Check out the Bridges Math website at https://mathathome.mathlearningcenter.org. This collection of activities, organized by mathematical content, uses familiar routines that can be used by students and families in a variety of settings.

  • Use free learning tools like local library programs, educational apps, or workbooks to review skills in a fun way. Check out khanacademy.org. Students practice at their own pace, first filling in gaps in their understanding and then accelerating their learning.

How caregivers can partner with their child and school in supporting social-emotional well-being:

A child’s well-being is at the heart of their success in school and beyond. As caregivers, you play a vital role in helping your child feel safe, confident, and ready to learn. We’re here to partner with you—whether it’s building positive relationships, supporting emotional regulation, or helping your child navigate challenges. Open communication between home and school makes a big difference. If you ever have concerns or insights about your child’s social or emotional needs, please reach out—we’re stronger together. Check out the community resources available at https://www.bloomfield.org/our-commitment/health-and-wellness/resources to stay informed and get connected.
