Honoring the PRIDE

As we kick off this year, I'm filled with pride watching our lion family come together. This week, I've been thinking about what it means to honor our PRIDE values every single day. Each letter—Perseverance, Respect, Independence, Dependability, Engagement—isn't just a word on our wall; it's a promise we make to ourselves and each other. As I begin my third year in this learning community, I am reminded of how our students showed up to school each day excited to chat with friends and learn alongside their teachers. I'm reminded of our staff that focused relentlessly on bringing joy each and every day. 

As part of our Lone Pine PRIDE, each cub, lion, and leader will receive a special wristband in the first week of school to remind us what it means to Honor the Pride. As you and your family reset for the upcoming school year, practice naming and noticing with a scavenger hunt!

PRIDE Scavenger Hunt: This week, go on a PRIDE scavenger hunt at home! Challenge your family to catch each other demonstrating our values:

• Perseverance: Someone keeps trying when something is hard
• Respect: Someone uses kind words or listens carefully
• Independence: Someone solves a problem on their own
• Dependability: Someone keeps a promise or helps without being asked
• Engagement: Someone participates fully in a family activity
