Congratulations to the Chess Wizards!

Congratulations to Jacob Lafer (grade 5), Alex Borchenko (grade 6), Alex Mercado (grade 5), and Max Borchenko (grade 4) for taking second place in the team Chess Wizards tournament on November 15! Jacob Lafer also clinched third place in the individual competition that day. Overall, 123 students from 30 local schools attended the tournament at Groves High School, all ready to showcase their chess mastery and have fun in the process.

Bloomfield Hills Schools has partnered with Chess Wizards to provide after school programs and summer camps for elementary and middle school students. At Lone Pine, the next session of Chess Wizards meets on Mondays after school beginning January 12. Registration is open now on Community Pass.
