The mission of Lone Pine Elementary
is to create a safe and caring environment
where children and staff work as a family to
build a foundation of trust, achieve academic excellence, respect diversity, celebrate successes,
and to promote a love for life-long learning.
Curriculum
Creative scheduling of classes gives teachers common planning time, and a firm
commitment of staff development gives them opportunities for continued learning. Their
carefully crafted Learning Development Activities foster collegial sharing of best
practices. Guided by Gardner's seven intelligences and discipline based learnings
(incorporating the State benchmarks), teachers design thematic units and integrate
curriculum so that it is developmentally appropriate, open ended and relevant.
